The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

S. Foley replaced C.D. Hayes on Fine Line, trained by Denis Gerard Hogan (Race 1)(Stewards permission).

246A Irish Stallion Farms EBF Nursery Hcap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Belicoso, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be lame on the right fore.

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Seaxburh, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped right out of the starting stalls.

D. Browne McMonagle, rider of Belicoso, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount slipped on the home bend.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed C.D. Hayes, the declared rider of Fine Line, regarding his failure to present at scales to weigh out for the first race. C.D. Hayes stated that he met heavy traffic at numerous locations on route, which meant he ran forty-five minutes over his normal arrival time. Having considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards accepted his explanation. The Raceday Stewards also allowed the nomination of S. Foley to replace C.D. Hayes on Fine Line.

246B CSG Rated Race

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident inside the two furlong pole, involving Mayflower, ridden by J. Kearney, where it appeared the rider had to sit for a few strides. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

S. Foley, rider of Iamimmaculate, trained by Gerard O'Leary, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left throughout.

246C Irish EBF Vincent O'Brien Ruby Stakes

S.T. McCullagh, rider of Syzygy (GB), trained by Daniel McLoughlin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slow away.

246D T1 Healthcare H'cap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Chirac trained by John James Feane was found to be a gelding and not a colt as shown on the passport presented. Having considered the report, the Raceday Stewards fined the trainer €130 in accordance with the provisions of Rule 148(xii).

The Raceday Stewards granted a request from W. McCreery, trainer of Chapel Lane, for an additional ten minutes to present his charge for identification by an IHRB Official as per the provisions of Rule 90(i).

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Paul W. Flynn, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Only One Scobie, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Paul W. Flynn stated that his charge did not handle the ground on the 31st of July in Galway and that he felt his charge was not suited to the track on the 1st of July in Fairyhouse. Having considered the report, the Raceday Stewards noted the content.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Glitter And Glory, trained by Mrs John Harrington, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the back straight involving Saga Lucia, ridden by J.A. Powell and Glitter And Glory, ridden by S. Foley, where it appeared Saga Lucia ran keen up on heels. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.A. Powell stated that his filly was keen, that he tried to take back off heels and that he got a few bumps which he felt caused his saddle to slip. S. Foley stated that he held his line all the way. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

J.A. Powell, rider of Saga Lucia, trained by M.D. O'Callaghan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his saddle slipped.

P.A. Harnett, rider of Chirac, trained by John James Feane, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lost his hind legs on the turn.

246E Kellihers Toyota Kingdom Gold Cup H'cap

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from T.M. Walsh, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Gaoth Chuil, placed first, as compared with its last race. T.M. Walsh stated that his charge did not handle the ground on the 29th July in Galway and felt that she favoured the ground today, which may have brought about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the content.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed R.P. Whelan, rider of Factual Fact (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that R.P. Whelan was in breach of Reg.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his clean record in this regard, they suspended him for four racedays.
